Jonathan Winn
Headmaster
Jonathan Winn serves as the Headmaster of Oak Grove Classical Academy, providing leadership for the school's academic, operational, and strategic initiatives. Since joining the Oak Grove community in 2018, he has brought a wealth of experience in Christian education, school leadership, and cross-cultural ministry.
Jonathan first discovered his calling to education while teaching English in Beijing, China during his college years. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Cross-Cultural Studies from Toccoa Falls College and marrying his wife, Alyssa, the couple returned to China, where they served for ten years at the International School of Qingdao. There, Jonathan taught Bible, chaired the Biblical Studies Department, and helped develop a thriving high school program. During this time, he also earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University.
In 2013, Jonathan and his family relocated to Albuquerque, where he soon joined Menaul School as International Programs Coordinator. He helped develop and oversee domestic and international programs that fostered leadership development and global learning opportunities for students.
With more than 25 years of experience in public, private, Christian, and international education, Jonathan has served as both a teacher and administrator. He has taught Bible, history, philosophy, ethics, communications, and leadership, and has coached basketball and volleyball. His passion is to cultivate a school culture that pursues academic excellence, Christian virtue, and the formation of wisdom to the glory of God through a classical Christian education.
Jonathan and Alyssa have been married since 2002 and are the parents of three grown children. Outside of school, he enjoys hiking, reading, history, languages, various sports, and playing guitar. Above all, Jonathan is committed to serving Christ by equipping students to pursue and love Him wholeheartedly, while faithfully serving others.
