“A good name is to be chosen over great riches.” (Proverbs 22:1) Because the scriptures frequently illustrate the growth and strength of the Christian using the tree as a model, we named our school “Oak Grove.”
Firmly Planted: Psalm 1 contrasts the righteous and the unrighteous saying that the healthy person of God “shall be like a tree firmly planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season.” While a tree is supported by an invisible but complex root system that supplies life and strength, its roots reach deep into the earth to find the life-giving water that will hold the tree upright even in the fiercest storm.
Bearing Fruit Together: The fully nourished tree will bear fruit, but not if it remains alone. Under the canopy of the grove, protection, strength and refuge can be found.
Growing Together: As the mighty oak tree starts from a very small seed, it is our hope that our students will be also grow together into pillars of strength by tapping into the Great Giver of Living Water, Jesus Christ.
